Astana International Financial Centre

The Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) is a planned financial free zone located in Astana, Kazakhstan. It was first announced by the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on 21 May 2015[1] and is scheduled to come into operation on 1 January 2018.[2]
Independent jurisdiction
The centre will have its own legal systems based on the principles and rules of English law. Foreign judges will be invited to sit in the centre's courts.[3]
Location
The centre will take over the grounds of Expo 2017 once the Expo is complete.[4]
