He is the graduate of Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk ice hockey school. Koreshkov played in Russia for HC Lada Togliatti, Metallurg Magnitogorsk, Sibir Novosibirsk, Severstal Cherepovets and Mechel Chelyabinsk.<ref name=eurohockey /> He also played for the Kazakhstan in the 1998<ref name=98oly>Template:Cite web</ref> and 2006 Winter Olympics.<ref name=06oly>Template:Cite web</ref> In the 2006 tournament, he scored five goals in five games before Kazakhstan were eliminated in the preliminary round of the tournament.<ref name=eurohockey>Template:Cite web</ref>
