The '''Moinak Hydro Power Plant''' (Мойнақ СЭС-і) is a [[Hydroelectricity|hydro power]] plant on the [[Sharyn River]]  south of [[Almaty]] in [[Almaty Province]] of [[Kazakhstan]].  It is commissioned on December 9, 2011.<ref>http://inform.kz/rus/article/2425229</ref> It has 2 individual [[turbine]]s with a nominal output of around 150 [[Watt#Megawatt|MW]] which deliver up to 300 MW of power<ref>[http://climateintel.com/2008/10/07/renewable-energy-developments-in-kazakhstan/ Renewable Energy Developments in Kazakhstan]</ref> and generate 1.27&nbsp;billion [[kilowatt-hour]]s of electricity per year. It is funded by  Kazakhstan's and China's National Development Bank and is currently worth around 300 million USD.
