== General ==

Bozshakol is a green-field project under development by [[KAZ Minerals]]. It is located in northern Kazakhstan, close to existing power, transportation and other infrastructure. The project is being developed as an open-pit mine with an onsite concentrator and a clay plant. The deposit has a mineral resource of 1,17 million tonnes at an average copper grade of 0.36% with 5,255 koz of gold and 57 kt of molybdenum as by-products.<ref name="Annual Report 2014"/>

The Bozshakol mine and concentrator will have a production life of over 40 years, with estimated annual output of 100 kt of copper cathode equivalent in the first 10 years of operations. Expected processing capacity: at the concentrator (construction under-way) – 25 million tons of ore per annum, clay plant (construction under-way) – 5 million tons of ore annually.<ref name="company website"/><ref name="LSE KAZ Minerals 2014 Audited results"/>

The Aktogay ore body consists of an oxide deposit on top of a larger sulphide deposit, the latter containing some valuable [[molybdenum]] as a by-product. The Aktogay project has a measured and indicated oxide ore resource of 121 MT with a copper grade of 0.37%, and a sulphide ore resource of 1,597 MT at a copper grade of 0.33%. The project will initially develop the deposit’s oxide resource which is located above the sulphide ore body at the SX/WE plant currently under construction. The sulphide resource extracted from the Aktogay mine will be processed at the concentrator on site, currently under construction.
Aktogay will employ around 3,000 people at peak construction activity and around 1,500 people when operational. '''Palace of the Republic''' is a concert hall building located in [[Almaty]], [[Kazakhstan]]. It is intended for concerts, festivals and other cultural events. It was one of the premiere sites for the Eurasia film festival. Outside, with the fountains on the square in front of the Palace and the monument of the Kazakh poet [[Abai Qunanbaiuli|Abay]], Palace of the Republic is one of the main known attractions of Almaty from the [[Dinmukhamed Kunayev|Kunayev]] era. The building is located at the cross road section of Prospekt Dostyk and Abay Avenue. It is considered as a monument based on an urban planning and architecture since January 26, 1982.

Built in 1970, previously named as the Palace of Culture by the name of Lenin, was opened during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of [[Vladimir Lenin]].<ref name="42b"/> It was renamed to the Palace of the Republic by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR in December 6, 1991 by the proposal of the Kazakh SSR State Committee for Culture. The palace was also place for International Primary Health Care meeting where the Alma-Ata Declaration was adopted in 1978.<ref name="22b"/><ref name="32b"/>

==Design==
The "Tent" design of the roof rests on the eight concrete pillars and walls of the building envelope, not reaching the roof, give the impression of it floating in the air. The colors of the hall consists of white ceiling, gold wall and red seats. The layout of the entrance hall and the lobby of the Palace used a combination of multi-dimensional space of different levels, creating a single whole room with the help of an intermediate level of the main entrance and grand staircase encircling the lobby with 3 sides. The main lobby with a height 13 m is decorated with snow-white chandelier. The decoration of the entrance hall and the lobby was reflected national character structures such as figure stairway fence lines, marble floors, etc. The width of the stage is 48 meters, with the depth of 18 m. After the reconstruction, the seats in auditorium was 2567 while before there were 3000.

==Renovation==

The renovation of the building was carried out in 2010-2011. The cost of it was amounted to 10.4 billion tenge.<ref name="52b"/> The entrance to the palace has been completely changed which updated the architectural appearance of the building. The external facade of the building replaced the old cladding with new materials, new windows, stained glass windows, doors, gates, repaired exterior porches and stairways, and an increased space in walls.<ref name="62b"/> Fire prevention measures have been provided in accordance with the new technical regulations. Another add on was the orchestra pit with three hoists and platforms for the storage of musical instruments. The building has been adapted for people with disabilities. Under the new health regulations, the kitchens were redesigned, the administrative and ancillary facilities have been changed which provided space for the backstage crew. In addition, to improve the quality of services, new premises have been provided for the building which included a meeting room for 50 people, a beauty salon, music store, recording room, flower shop, and recording studio. One of the main positive impacts of the reconstruction was the increased new land space for future use and the introduction of the parking space for cars.<ref name="72b"/><ref name="82b"/>

==Cost of maintaining==
After reconstruction, the cost of maintaining the Republic Palace has increased 13 times. At the end of 2012, administrative expenses LLP "Palace of the Republic" amounted to about 1.05 billion tenge, compared to 80 million a year before.<ref name="92b"/>

==Ownership==
In Soviet times, the palace was owned by the government. Since the collapse of the USSR, the ownership was handed to the administration of city [[Akim]] named as CHP Palace of the Republic which it formed into a LLP with 100% of the shares from the city government.

In May 2014, it became known from the Approval of the Comprehensive Privatization Plan for 2014-2016, in which according to the LLP, that the Palace of the Republic will be sold into a private ownership.<ref name="102b"/>

In November 2015, a public information was made that the Palace of the Republic will be sold for 1 tenge.<ref name="112b"/>

Yury Annenkov was born into a well-known family (among his ancestors was [[Pavel Annenkov]], [[Alexander Pushkin]]'s publisher); his father, Pavel Annenkov was involved with revolutionary activities that led him to exile in [[Siberia]]. The Annenkovs moved back to [[Saint Petersburg|St. Petersburg]] in 1892.

In 1908, Annenkov entered the [[University of St. Petersburg]] and attended Savely Seidenberg's studio classes, together with [[Marc Chagall]]. Next year, 1909, he attended [[Jan Ciągliński]]'s studio. In 1911-1912, Annenkov moved to Paris to work in the studios of [[Maurice Denis]] and [[Félix Vallotton]]. In 1913, Annenkov worked in Switzerland. Upon his return to St. Petersburg in 1914, Annenkov mostly contributed to magazines (''Satirikon'', ''Teatr i Iskusstvo'', ''Otechestvo'') and worked for theatres.

[[Maxim Gorky]]'s fairy-tale book, ''Samovar'', published in 1917 was his first work as a book designer. His recognition as a book illustrator came in the wake of his most known work — designing [[Alexander Blok]]'s poem, [[The Twelve]], published in 1918 and gone through three printings within a year. In the next few years Annenkov designed numerous books for [[Petrograd]] authors ([[Mikhail Kuzmin]] and [[Aleksey Remizov]], to name a few). In 1919 Annenkov designed and staged "First Distiller, or How an Imp Earned a Hunk of Bread", a comedy by Count [[Lev Tolstoi]].

Commissioned by the Bolshevik government, Annenkov together with [[Mstislav Dobuzhinsky]], S. Maslovski and A. Kugel, designed and staged the open-air mystery "Liberated Labour Anthem" on 1 May 1920 in [[Petrograd]]. Later that year, Annenkov staged and designed another mass show, [[The Storming of the Winter Palace]], part of the [[October Revolution]] anniversary celebrations in [[Palace Square]], Petrograd. In 1919-1920 Annenkov made a series of abstract sculptural assemblages and collages, influenced by the [[Dada]] movement.

1922 saw his book "Portraits". It contained 80 pictures of the key-figures of Russian art of the time ([[Maxim Gorki|Gorki]], [[Yevgeny Zamyatin|Zamyatin]], [[Remizov]], [[Fyodor Sologub|Sologub]], [[Alexander Blok|Blok]], [[Akhmatova]] a.o.) made in 1906-1921. The book also included essays by [[Yevgeny Zamyatin]] and [[Mikhail Kuzmin]]. He joined the [[Mir Iskusstva]].

Annenkov left Russia in July 1924, first living in Germany and later settling in Paris.
He continued to work as an artist and served as a costume designer for motion pictures. He was co-nominated with [[Rosine Delamare]] for the [[Academy Award for Costume Design]] for their work in the film ''[[The Earrings of Madame de...]]'' (1953).
