The party was registered by the authorities in January 2007, aiming to become a member of the [[Socialist International]] (SI). On June 11, 2007 it announced its intention to merge with the [[Naghyz Ak Zhol]] (English: True Bright Path) party. In the 18 August 2007 [[Majilis|Assembly]] [[Kazakhstani legislative election, 2007|elections]], the party won 4.62% of the popular vote and no seats. All seats were won by the ruling [[Nur-Otan]] party.
